Robot testing workshop

There are countless options available when you search for robotics for children. Whether it is just a summer workshop or you are interested in enrolling your child in a regular weekly lesson, the possibilities are endless.

Hurdles in learning robotics for children

If you talk to your child about robotics and they seem hesitant, it can be because of a number of reasons:

  • He/she might think it is too complicated
  • It may feel like a nerdy thing to do
  • They think it will take ages to learn
  • Robotics might seem like a boring subject

If any of the above reasons resonate with your child, it may just be a matter of having a conversation with them. Show them some cool robotics testing videos on YouTube to develop their interest. Explore with them all the cool things they can do once they learn the basics of robotics.

Robotics is a whole new world

At Charity NZ, we asked our students to trial with a robot testing workshop to see what they could achieve with the robot parts they were provided. Needless to say, each and everyone in the workshop thoroughly enjoyed the whole process.

Show your child that the only thing limiting what they can achieve with robotics is their own imagination. Children can do anything they imagine with a robot.

At Charity NZ, we asked our students to trial with a robot testing workshop to see what they can achieve with the robot parts they were provided. Needless to say, each and everyone in the workshop thoroughly enjoyed the whole process.

Children assembled their own robots using parts and nuts to secure the whole things in place from scratch. Every student was excited to watch the robot develop right before their eyes.

Once every part was assembled in place, students got to testing. They used scenarios provided to them and improvised on their own as well to ascertain if they had done a good job in building a robot from scratch.

Along the way, they learnt concepts by implementing them in practice. Surely some of them made minor mistakes along the way, but it was all a part of the learning process. They enjoyed the first-hand experience and were eager to repeat the experience.

Talk to your child about the cool things he/she can unveil with a robot. Bring them to one of our classes to see it for yourself. Feel free to give us a call or drop an email with your questions and comments.
